Whether your relocation is either from state-to-state (interstate) or in-state (intrastate), they are regulated differently. It is imperative that the moving company you choose has the knowledge and experience to properly and cost effectively prepare and execute the move for you. We highly recommend using reputable and insured movers who are members of the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration). Visit their site to check their record. Other Tips to Consider

Before hiring a moving company, be sure to interview at least three movers and have them visit your home to take a personal look at what you're moving. If they can't see your stuff, you won't get an accurate quote.
- Your estimates should be in a reasonable range. Beware of very low estimates. Most scams happen when moving companies give cheaper bids and then try to make up the difference later. If the quote is too good to be true, chances are it is!
- Interview the movers to find out how long they've been in business; check their record with the BBB or if they are members of the FMCSA. Ask for references.
- Get a written estimate and contract, and learn about their insurance coverage
- Although the movers should have insurance, it is normally minimal. You should get additional insurance to cover other incidentals and receive full value replacement, in case of any damage. Click here to learn more about moving insurance.
