Ferndale
Ferndale is a census-designated place (CDP) in unincorporated Lake County, FL. The population was 233 at the 2000 census. It is located nearby Sugarloaf Mountain and the Town of Montverde along the Green Mountain Scenic Byway.
The small village of Ferndale, formerly known as West Apopka, has one of the oldest and smallest post office in Florida. It will soon be home to the 192-acre Ferndale Preserve, which will provide many unique outdoor experiences to its residents and visitors.
Ferndale is one of the few locations in the area that provides large acreage parcels for residential real estate. Its hilly terrain, nature preserve environment and rural charm makes it a desirable place inspiring a true sense of being in the countryside. Residences vary between modest homes to stately mansions.
